Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer

Key Role:

Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance. May review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience designing structures and mechanisms for spacecraft

• Experience performing static and dynamic structure analysis

• Experience with SolidWorks or CAD tools

• Ability to manage mass budgets

• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with spacecraft subsystem thermal testing

• Experience with spacecraft subsystem static or dynamic testing

• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages

• Knowledge of radiation hardening and survivability requirements

• Ability to manage thermal budget

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
