The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a knowledgeable test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll work with testers, developers, analysts, and CMs to evaluate software developed for the client. You’ll work on creating a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using both automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of the client’s system.

This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by writing the code to test. You’ll also further your experience in cloud-based platforms and explore new areas as we migrate the client’s program. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

• 2 years of experience in a professional work environment
• Knowledge of evaluating, testing, and validating of assigned applications, and participating in the development of solutions to resolve problems
• Ability to review assigned application documentation for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, track problems and provide updates to designated management, and prepare milestone status reports
• IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI)
• Associate's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Knowledge of reporting progress on problem resolution to management
• Ability to carry out procedures to ensure that all information systems, products, and services meet organization standards and end user requirements

Vetting:
Applicants selected must possess an active IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI) and meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client of an IRS MBI; IRS MBI is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
