As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), I provide therapeutic services to maximize patients' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities in an inpatient rehab setting. My role involves assessing patient needs, collaborating with healthcare team members, documenting care, and guiding family members on follow-through programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy to help patients recover from injury or illness, focusing on speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
- Communicate patient progress to supervisor and other team members.
- Document patient care according to regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
- Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
- Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable state/federal laws.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA.
- Minimum six months experience as a speech therapist/speech language pathologist working with adult and geriatric populations.
- Current and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are rendered.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
