Business Group Overview:
Blackstone Private Equity Strategies (“BXPE”) is Blackstone’s flagship private equity offering for individual investors. BXPE is a perpetual fund which invests in diversified global private equity opportunities alongside Blackstone’s private equity platform. The team invests across 15 PE strategies spanning industries, geographies and investment structures, representing the breadth of Blackstone’s equity investing capabilities.
Job Title: Senior Associate, Blackstone Private Equity Strategies
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of the investment process using quantitative and qualitative skills to assess industries and companies within a broad range of sectors.
- Assess future investments and possible acquisitions, as well as monitor and evaluate potential exit opportunities for current portfolio companies.
- Meet and interact with management teams of prospective target companies throughout the diligence process.
- Coordinate financial, legal, commercial and other advisors throughout the diligence process.
- Meet and interact with financial, legal, commercial and other advisors as part of deal sourcing effort.
- Conduct financial and competitive analysis to identify investment merits and key risks during the due diligence process.
- Undertake valuations of business deals and negotiate contracts and other agreements based on findings.
- Conduct industry research regularly by diligently monitoring companies including recent news, quarterly/annual financial statements, ratings changes, and projections.
- Draft memoranda for internal and external use and facilitate communication, including drafting materials for financing transactions and participating in financing conversations with management.
- Assist in the execution of investment and financing transactions across the capital structure and deploy Blackstone capital in all areas of opportunity and interest.
- Meet and interact with management teams to ensure targets and metrics are properly established and met.
- Undertake numerous projects at a time given the lean size of various private equity investment teams.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience advising corporate clients in the life sciences, pharma services and healthcare technology space on M&A and equity capital raisings.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft Excel to build detailed operating models, financial models (such as LBO and DCF), cash flow pro formas, as well as engaging in other valuation techniques.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft PowerPoint to develop internal and external presentation materials.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft Word to develop written memos and notes.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft OneNote to organize notes, research and workplans and coordinate with respective deal teams.
- Experience can be concurrent.

Expected annual base salary range:
$160,000 - $215,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
