OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor's degree in health and safety or 5 years experience in a similar role
- Registration as a Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure as a safety officer
- Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and implement safety standard practices, and document processes.
- Manage workers comp forms, Safety logs and incident reports. Identify and report on trends.
- Organize and manage a safety team / first responders.
- Generate safety observation reports on a monthly basis.
- Conduct safety walks, formal weekly inspections, and monthly tool box talks.
- Train employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation.
- Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident. Develop
and train on prevention. - Maintain documentation of the company's SDS and Hazcom program, and other safety
procedures. - New hire training and orientation.
- Create SOPs documenting production processes and quality standards.
- Ensure all training logs/roster paperwork are given to HR for proper documentation.
COMPENSATION
- Salary range: $50 - $65/hour
