About these Opportunities: 7-Eleven Inc. has several opportunities for 2024 Summer Internships. Each internship opportunity will occur during the summer months, (10-12 weeks), focused on a specific functional area, and will provide the candidate with a depth experience within the area, culminating in a project presentation to functional leaders. Each intern will work closely with a coach who will meet regularly to discuss project progress, provide direction and ongoing feedback. In addition, each intern will attend a lunch series which will provide a cross-functional view into the organization and give the interns exposure to senior leadership. The interns will also have the experience of touring a store and learning about our distribution systems.
Responsibilities
You will be joining a team of machine learning engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to create and implement novel machine learning solutions at an enterprise scale.
You will be responsible for training and deploying machine learning systems that improve customer experience, enable innovative user experiences, and increase store revenue. Engineers at 7-Eleven have solid technical backgrounds but enjoy learning new languages, technologies, and frameworks. From creating an experimental machine learning prototype to deploying a production-ready model, machine learning engineers at 7-Eleven wear many hats to see projects to completion.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in at least one machine learning framework (Scikit-learn, XGboost, TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Caffe, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of advanced mathematics and AI/machine learning fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with data-wrangling and model training
- Courses in software engineering
- Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering/Math
