Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at our grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers and POS systems to process customer transactions efficiently.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer and balance at the end of each shift.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed.
• Conduct product demonstrations to promote sales and enhance customer knowledge of products.
• Utilize basic math skills to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Engage in upselling techniques to encourage additional purchases.

Skills

• Proficient in operating cash registers and POS systems.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette.
• Experience in a grocery store or retail sales environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing change accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with stock management and product demonstrations is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.24 - $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
