The role will require someone who can work independently with little supervision, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties And Responsibilites
- Audit utility and waste invoices for billing accuracy, identifying potential billing errors and working with the corresponding vendors to research and resolve any discrepancies.
- Research issues with external and internal stakeholders and maintain an issue resolution tracker, providing departmental leadership regular progress updates.
- Research utility/waste account transfer requirements across North America, completing all application paperwork and identifying when and how to proactively engage internal and external partners to support our objectives towards effectively establishing utility and waste services on-time allowing our Stores to open strong.
- Negotiate and track utility deposit requests and expediate account set up fees when required to process payments prior to account opening. Recover utility deposits when requirements expire.
- Cross functional coordination with Real Estate, Mergers and Acquisitions, Licensing, Accounting, Legal, as well as external partners to track and move forward the progress of various acquisition and disposition projects.
- Manage utility/waste bill pay database, setting up new Stores, validating first invoices and deactivating disposed locations after final invoices have been processed for payment.
- Support tracking of all action items connected to a utility/waste account open and close to ensure project completion and report status updates to the team on a regular basis.
- Identify and report key metrics on items such as late fees, deposits, misc. charges, usage and cost issues, excess pickups, and contamination charges, etc.
- Production of various reporting tools for leadership as requested.

Specific Knowledge And Skills
- Education: Bachelors/4 year degree
- Experience: 3-5 years, Waste/Energy/Finance analytics
- Strong analytic skills with experience using consumer insights, qualitative and quantitative analysis and data to drive business decisions
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
