Atel LLC (dba 70 North Kitchen & Market) is hiring a Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to manage kitchen operations.
70 North Kitchen & Market is an upscale dining establishment with a from-scratch kitchen where just about everything is made in-house, from the finest ingredients with culinary technique & precision. The menu includes made French & American regional classics. The bar menu highlights unique yet approachable wines, craft beer, and classic & inventive cocktails. The ideal Head Chef / Kitchen Manager candidate has several years of kitchen & cooking experience & is capable of fine dining, ideally with French or Northern European cuisine. The candidate has superior attention to detail and technique. The ideal candidate is interested in learning & growing in the profession as well as mentoring & leading by example. The candidate also has extreme attention to detail & execution.
Responsibilities Include:
· Work closely with management to manage staff, prepare menus, & implement procedures
· Maintain a positive, collegial, professional environment
· Develop menus & recipes
· Create protocols and procedures
· Manage & oversee day-to-day operations
· Manage inventory & procurement
· Manage costs
· Insure safety, sanitation, cleanliness, & equipment maintenance
Desired qualifications:
· 5 years of restaurant experience & culinary training
· Management and supervisory experience
· Experience with French, Northern European, and/or Creole cuisine
A self-starter and hard-worker
· A positive, contributing team member
· A thoughtful communicator
· Knowledge of cost and labor systems
· Thorough knowledge of safety & sanitation systems and regulations
