How We Serve
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) 2 is a technically skilled, detail-oriented professional with exceptional interpersonal skills who will serve a role connecting with patients, Spiras Care Team members, providers, and others involved in the care of the patient.
The Certified Medical Assistant 2 will become an integral part of a Clinical Care Team, working in partnership with other Certified Medical Assistants, Field Clinicians (LPN), and Nurse Practitioners. Together, the team will manage the overall health of a defined population of patients in collaboration with the patient’s primary care and specialist physicians.
This role will have varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, telephone interaction with patients, coordination of care, addressing gaps, and, when appropriate, triaging to clinicians and nurse practitioners, as well as collaborating with primary care physicians and specialists. The successful candidate will be skilled in communication, data entry, data extraction, coordination, and identifying and sourcing additional support needs for the patient. The CMA II will have the opportunity to regularly engage with patients and providers to ensure the patient is receiving exceptional care and support. This role will also ensure that patients and providers are well informed, aligned, and coordinated.
This individual will understand and be comfortable with PC-based and mobile technology and have a deep commitment to exceptional patient care. A typical day includes telephonic patient clinical assessments, providing patient education, maintaining patient compliance to a treatment plan, connecting to community resources, calling providers, monitoring information on remote monitoring devices, and charting assessments in Spiras systems. This is a personally and professionally rewarding position and it allows the colleague an opportunity to provide health care services at the top of their training. Each day includes seeing and/or interacting with patients in the community.
