Job Description
As the Income/Franchise Tax Senior Manager, you will oversee the preparation of income and franchise tax returns for multiple clients. You will have access to high-quality resources and a collaborative work environment that fosters success. Leading the Income/Franchise Tax team, you will engage in tax consulting and research while managing projects and client engagements effectively.
You will be expected to collaborate with client management, address inquiries from tax authorities, and guide team members to resolve client tax issues. Additionally, you will gain deep insights into client operations, processes, and business objectives to provide superior tax services. You will also be responsible for professional development training and business development efforts.
This role will play a crucial role in leading and managing client engagements within a growing practice. The SALT-Income and Franchise Tax Senior Manager/Director will be a key contributor to the success of the tax team and broader organization.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries from state and other tax authorities.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, effectively working with client management to perform tax services.
Lead and mentor team members to resolve client tax issues efficiently.
Understand client operations, processes, and business objectives, applying this knowledge to engagements.
Conduct professional development and training sessions regularly.
Oversee multiple client projects and tasks simultaneously.
Lead sales presentations for existing and prospective clients.
Support business development efforts, including proposal development and client pursuit activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA or JD License in New York.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience.
State and Local Income Tax (SALT) experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to travel as needed.

Salary : $175,000 - $255,000
