Duties
- Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high standards of food preparation and service.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining food safety standards.
- Ensure consistent quality of dishes by conducting regular taste tests and inspections.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate catering events and special functions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor food costs and waste to optimize profitability while maintaining quality.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth among staff.
Requirements
- Experience in Puerto Rican and Dominican Cuisine.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices, catering operations, and restaurant management principles.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Proficient in inventory control and cost management strategies.
- Experience in bartending is a plus for establishments offering beverage services.
