Lovet Pet Health Care is looking for an experienced Veterinarian ready to lead a hospital as a Lead Veterinarian.
Originating in Phoenix, AZ over 40 years ago, we are a growing family of over 20 general practice hospitals in Arizona, Illinois and soon to be Michigan.
The Lead Veterinarian is the clinical leader of the hospital, ensuring clinical excellence and the delivery of top-tier services to our clients.
Reports to: Interim VP of Clinical, Future Hospital Ownership

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Mentorship and Recruitment: Collaborates with hospital leadership to recruit, retain, and train veterinary staff, ensuring orientation and performance management to drive retention and productivity. The Lead Veterinarian will be tasked with leading the mentorship of all new or recent graduates at their hospital.
- Clinical Excellence: The Lead Veterinarian is responsible for driving clinical excellence and ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
- Leadership & Culture: Acts as a key leader, fostering a strong workplace culture, aligning with the company's core values, and driving performance and retention at the hospital level. Direct supervision of Associate Veterinarians and indirect supervision of hospital staff.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Works with leadership and compliance teams to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety standards, inventory management, and fosters team relationships to maintain staffing levels and hospital efficiency. Lead Veterinarian will also be responsible for holding the DEA premise license.
Education and Experience:
- A valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) license in good standing.
- 2 years of experience in clinical veterinary medicine required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Walking, lifting, turning, twisting on a regular basis.
