Our client is a fast growing on-demand garment printing company in the eCommerce fulfillment industry in San Jose. They are now seeking a few full-time Robotics Engineers to join their team onsite (M-F) in San Jose, reporting to the Technical Project Manager and Lead Robotic Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, automation, and warehouse management systems. This role will involve designing, developing, and implementing robotic systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development
Create and develop robotic systems for warehouse automation, including AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), robotic arms, and conveyor systems.
Write, test, and debug software for controlling robotic systems. Integrate robotics with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other IT infrastructure.
Build prototypes and conduct tests to validate designs. Analyze test results and make necessary modifications to improve performance and reliability.
Oversee the installation of robotic systems in warehouse settings. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations through automation. Develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including warehouse managers, IT staff, and supply chain specialists, to ensure seamless integration and operation of robotic systems.
Document designs, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to warehouse staff on the use and maintenance of robotic systems.
Ensure all robotic systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations. Implement safety protocols to protect workers and equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in robotics engineering, with a focus on warehouse automation. Experience with AGVs, robotic arms, and conveyor systems is highly desirable.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C , and ROS (Robot Operating System). Familiarity with PLC programming, CAD software, and simulation tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and implement effective solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and evolving business needs. Willingness to continuously learn and improve technical skills.
