The Cultivation Manager manages the day-to-day cultivation operations in a regulated, cannabis facility. This position is responsible for all aspects of cultivation, including, but not limited to, directing, and overseeing the work and tasks performed during clone, water, veg, flower, and post-harvest stages. This includes developing plant population schedules, integrated pest management (IPM) and foliar spray regimens, introducing new strains for production, and working with the managers and supervisors on the daily tasks and duties for the cultivation team. Regulatory compliance is an essential responsibility of this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for the cultivation operation.
- Coordinates in the development of weekly tasks and work schedules for the cultivation team members.
- Implements data tracking systems to collect important operational data and KPI’s.
- Monitors production results and drive team accountability for adherence to standards and product yield and quality.
- Identifies any deviations in yield or potency expectations and develops a plan to address and eliminate future occurrences.
- Ensures sanitation and safety protocols are followed.
- Evaluates plant health daily having an active presence in the garden to scout and implement corrective measures ensuring no plant loss.
- Establishes plant cloning and population schedules in line with market needs.
- Conducts daily and weekly meetings to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Manages cultivation inventory setting par levels so consumables, supplies and tools are on-hand so there are no disruptions to production.
- Interacts with business team members to address technical or regulatory questions and provide solutions to problems.
- Evaluates new technologies and techniques to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Screens, hires, trains, and evaluates cultivation team members in accordance with company policies.
- Manages employee’s attendance, performance, and adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts employee reviews.
- Provides coaching, support and corrective action as needed.
- Develops and sets indoor grow facility environmental parameters and program/monitor automated results.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
