Job Overview

Capital Women's Care is a 150 group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/Floater who strives to aid the practice by receiving patients, collecting information and payments, processing administrative tasks, and providing a range of other customer service duties both on the phone and in person.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a polite, prompt, professional, and helpful manner
- Check patients in and out
- Obtain relevant medical and demographic information at window
- Enter patient demographic and insurance information into computer system
- Collect copayments and/or deductible
- Verify insurance and eligibility
- Post daily charges
- Check referral status, obtain medical records, and prepare charts
- Answering multiple phone lines
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- As a Floater, cover Call Center duties, as necessary, answering phones, registering and (re)scheduling patients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical office setting, preferably in an OB/GYN setting.
- Strong knowledge of EHR and Microsoft software.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak to patients confidentially and compassionately.
- Ability to de-escalate unwanted situations.
