What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Relations & Affiliate Strategist position at 829 Studios?
We are looking for a strong communications expert to design and implement impactful strategies that cultivate relationships, engage target audiences, and boost brand awareness and revenue for our clients. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution. It involves consistent client contact and requires confidence in owning presentations and deliverables. By collaborating with clients and our in-house team of marketing account managers, strategists, and operators, you will gather user and competitive research and translate your insights into actionable brand and project goals.
What You’ll Do
Client Management
- Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their goals, personalities, and priorities.
- Confidently lead discussions, build strategy, and conduct presentations with marketing stakeholders.
Public Relations
- Write and edit media materials including pitches, press releases, press kits, fact sheets, infographics, bios, blogs, newsletters, case studies, award submissions, official statements, letters from leadership, Q&A’s, etc.
- Research, develop and maintain media lists and client editorial calendars.
- Pitch top tier short/long-lead print, online, virtual and broadcast media outlets and secure national and localized impact stories as well as consistent interview opportunities.
- Maintain best practices. Ensure that protocols are being followed. Evolve processes, offerings, and deliverable formats when you see opportunities to make improvements.
- Keep up to date on industry and media trends and themes to create opportunities for clients.
- Manage reporting, including the collection and tracking of press results.
Affiliate Marketing
- Develop and implement affiliate marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and customer acquisition.
- Manage affiliate relationships, and ensure that affiliates are effectively promoting clients' products and services.
- Analyze affiliate performance data and metrics, and identify opportunities to optimize performance.
- Audit affiliate programs for potential clients and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong understanding of Affiliate technologies/platforms (Impact, Rakuten, CJ, Pepperjam/Ascend, AWIN).
- 4 years of PR experience - agency experience is required.
- 2 years of affiliate marketing experience.
- Exceptional critical thinking, communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills.
- The ability to problem-solve, confidently make decisions, and lead projects with authority.
- Demonstrated success in implementing media and affiliate marketing campaigns.
- Track record of developing successful working relationships with the press and affiliate partners, securing media coverage and impactful partnerships for brands.
- Strong command of PR & affiliate software including MuckRack, BrandWatch, Impact, Commission Junction, Rakuten, etc.
- Experience in managing influencer campaigns is a plus.
