The Regional Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the design operations across multiple locations within a defined region for 84 Lumber. Key responsibilities include interpreting complex architectural prints to produce accurate placement layouts and engineered truss drawings across the region. The Regional Design Manager supervises, leads, and develops a team of design managers and Design staff across multiple sites, ensuring that design processes are standardized and efficient across the region.
This role also includes mentoring design teams, fostering communication and collaboration between different offices, and supervising the work of regional designers to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. The Regional Design Manager is expected to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement within the design department, supporting regional growth objectives.
Responsibilities:
Interpretation and design of engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings.
Supervise and direct designers’ work to ensure accurate designs.
Scheduling design work.
Managing and resolving customer related design issues and other miscellaneous design issues.
Developing designer’s skills to enable them to advance through the design levels.
Effective communication with other teams, including sales, production, customer service and management
Qualifications:
Database software
Design software including MiTek
Word processing software
Spreadsheet and internet software
Respond to common inquiries, and/or resolve complaints, from customers
Mulit-Family design experience
