Job Summary
The Deputy Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the operations of the court by performing a variety of complex clerical tasks. The Deputy Clerk will assist with data entry for civil, criminal, and traffic cases. Provides general clerical assistance to the Judges and administrative staff, ensuring that all processes run smoothly within the office.
Responsibilities
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain up-to-date records.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting clients as needed.
- Organize and file legal documents, ensuring proper documentation is maintained for easy retrieval.
- Conduct research as required to support ongoing cases and legal matters.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately when required.
- Utilize word processing software to create, edit, and format documents as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards.
- No criminal history.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a court setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Education of high school graduation or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in data entry with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is an advantage.
- Competence in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) is essential.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately if required for specific duties.
- Math skills particular to the position are required.
- Must possess strong problem solving skills and a strong work ethic, with excellent verbal communication, and conflict resolutions skills.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
