Position Summary: The Line Cook will be responsible for working as part of a team on single stations in the kitchen, and should possess intermediary culinary skills. Cooks are accountable for delivering the same quality of product every time ending in a positive guest experience.
Detailed Description:
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required for cooking according to hotel standards.
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
- Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check and to ensure consistency of product and achieve high guest satisfaction.
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Check quality of ingredients.
- Monitor and stock when ingredients when necessary.
- Maintain quality standards.
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
- Abide by all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional cooking experience, which includes cooking in a high-volume restaurant operation; or a combination of professional culinary work experience and formal culinary training
- Must have good knife skills
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Ability to communicate professionally
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift, push and carry moderate amounts of weight
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
