Server, 4:00-9:30 PM Availability

As a server at our restaurant, you’ll be an important part of our customer service team, working under our front-of-house manager to ensure our customers start their meal off right. You’ll greet customers with a smile when they walk in the door and offer assistance with anything they need. This may be starting them out with a glass of wine or beer, answering questions about our delicious menu items or helping put together a table for a party of eight. This role is ideal for friendly, personable workers with a passion for fun food and a desire to share our vision of a gourmet grilled cheese restaurant. Shifts would vary, but typically 4-9:30 a few days a week. There is also opportunity to help with a food tent if interested, we attend farmer's markets which are hosted every Monday night at the Howard Commons, every Thursday night at Titletown, and every other Wednesday at Broadway Famers Market.

THIS IS A TIPPED POSITISION AS WELL AS HOURLY WAGE

Job Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they come into the restaurant and offer your assistance with their orders
• Bring water, napkins, and menus to tables
• Take orders at the customers tables
• Ring up food orders and communicate those orders to the kitchen staff, making sure to note any special requests so all items are made correctly
• Explain menu items to customers with enthusiasm and descriptive language, and be knowledgeable about our ingredients so you can tell customers about our commitment to quality, local, food sources
• Offer suggestions for order substitutions for customers with allergies or other dietary restrictions
• Offer to help customers find seating and carry items to their tables
• Direct customers to anything they need, such as utensils, booster seats or directions to the restroom
• Ask customers if they want their order for here or to go, manage the POS system ordering platform.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor

Preferred: High school enrolled, diploma or equivalent Previous food service experience-Server or Host knowledge preferred

• Experience handling cash and using credit card processing machines

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
