Description of RLUS Resolution Life US (RLUS) is the platform for Resolution Life Group's (RLGH) current and future business in the US. In early 2021, RLUS acquired Security Life of Denver and affiliates, which is the core of the US growth platform. The continued growth strategy of RLUS is through additional legal entity acquisitions as well as reinsurance transactions. RLUS also provides services to support the growth strategy of Resolution Re Limited, which is RLGH's Bermuda-based Class E reinsurance company. These services include identifying and analyzing potential growth opportunities for Resolution Re, as well as providing project management, financial modeling and other related services that support the management and Board of Resolution Re in its assessment and evaluation of acquisition, JV and reinsurance opportunities. Position Overview This position is responsible for supporting the structuring and analysis of M&A, reinsurance, JV and similar growth opportunities for RLGH's US business. The position will also provide equivalent services to support Resolution Re's activities in this area. The position will directly support the Head of M&A and Reinsurance Pricing in partnering with Corporate Development and Strategy and the senior management of RLGH's US and Bermuda platforms to identify and develop such strategic growth opportunities and will be a key supporting resource in the execution and implementation of these strategies. Position Responsibilities Supports partnership with Corporate Development and Strategy and the senior management of RLGH's US and Bermuda platforms to identify and develop strategic growth opportunities Conducts research and analysis to develop potential new opportunities to drive growth Presents complex data and ideas in a coherent manner with understandable visuals to senior management Supports the structuring and analysis of M&A, reinsurance, JV and similar growth opportunities for RLUS and Resolution Re Analyzes transactions to achieve optimal transaction structure(s) considering regulatory jurisdiction, accounting and capital framework, risk tolerance, strategic and business fit, competitive considerations, etc. Works with business areas to build reusable transaction models, set actuarial pricing assumptions, and develop pricing analyses Works with Risk area to develop and analyze risk profile of potential transactions, to develop risk mitigation approaches and to incorporate into transaction models Supports execution of transactions in partnership with the business units and acquisition teams Participates in RLUS and Resolution Re transaction / growth related committees, including due diligence committees to ensure effective implementation and execution of related projects Leadership - This position will have an engagement style that facilitates discussion of business trade-offs, resolving potential conflicts and helping set agendas with peers, business leaders and senior management. The individual must have demonstrated the ability to win the trust and respect of their colleagues and stakeholders and have a history of creating win-win outcomes and must be able to successfully manage and resolve differences of view Drive for Results – This position will have demonstrated an ability to deliver performance and results across all areas of the responsibilities of the role. They will continually be viewed as taking the initiative and proactively developing business ideas to support M&A and Reinsurance Pricing Strategic Orientation - This position will display the ability to draw learnings from across the business and best practices in the industry, have a strong sense of market trends, and be able to integrate them into actionable steps Knowledge & Experience 3 years in analyzing M&A and reinsurance transactions in life insurance Senior relationship management skills Experience in managing multi-faceted projects including consultants Some knowledge of life insurance regulations relating to reinsurance and M&A Some knowledge of tax, accounting and capital systems in US and Bermuda Some experience with risk management and measurement frameworks Experience with modelling of life insurance products and corporate models FSA or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience Location: New York For roles being performed in New York City, Resolution Life is required to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary for the role. This base salary range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making base salary decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Resolution Life, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, allowing for future salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
