At LBMC, the Senior Tax Accountant will have the opportunity to work on complex tax returns within their preferred interest. Leadership will support learning initiatives based on candidate preference and new hires will be exposed to a diverse set of client portfolios and industries. High-performing candidates have a clearly defined path for advancement to Manager, Senior Manager and/or Shareholder roles within LBMC.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Prepares returns and resolves tax questions for clients both locally and on a national scale
- Able to work independently and make decisions on ordinary tax return matters in a consultative setting
- Set appointments with clients and assembles information to prepare or arrange for the preparation of federal, state and local returns
- Maintains control on time and charges. Recommends billing to supervisor, manager, or Shareholder-in-charge for tax clients
- Oversees ad hoc tax planning, research, and consulting projects and engagements
- Works diligently building relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations to continue to foster a long-term partnership between the LBMC Tax Department and external clients. High-performing individuals will be alert to client needs for the possible expansion of services to other LBMC service line
- Adheres to LBMC’s defined processes and procedures including the firm's policy on privacy and client confidentiality. Knows and follows the rules, regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, the Tennessee Board of Public Accountancy, and other regulating bodies as appropriate.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Licensed CPA preferred (or 150 credit hours necessary to sit for the CPA exam)
- 2 years of progressive tax experience
