Position Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating and providing leadership to the warehouse staff and assisting in the daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the warehouse staff during shift and provide training. Oversees supplies and ensures finished goods are rotated and stored accurately
- Ensures warehouse inventories of products and related supplies are maintained. Performs physical inventory assessments and verifies accuracy of received items
- Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure scheduling priorities to meet customer demands
- Builds DO’s, ship loads in system, cut seals and seal trailers and ensures accuracy in product shipment
- Maintains open communication with internal and external contacts regarding inventory of finished goods and other materials
- Partners with Warehouse Manager on aspects of human resource management including: performance management, training, and coaching within company policy and regulatory compliance. Provides for effective staff development according to requirement
- Ensures regular preventative maintenance procedures are followed, including daily housekeeping
- Actively engages team in activities to meet targets for safety, sanitation and warehousing/delivery of products
- Operates and promotes in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices
- Fill in for Warehouse Manager during vacation or absences
- Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of: safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation
- Other duties, as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- 3 years’ experience as a Forklift Operations Trainer
- 3 years’ Leadership experience
- Previous forklift operation experience
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
