Project Accountant and Bookkeeper

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and versatile individual to join our team as a Project Accountant and HR Admin. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our project accounting, managing financial transactions, and acting as the main point of contact for several of our important vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Project Accounting

• Manage job costing, budget, forecasts and projections
• Generate job costing reports
• Manage subcontractor contracts, onboarding and labor compliance
• Approve project expenses for payment
• Monitor project compliance with IRA and ABP requirements
• Perform bookkeeping to prepare reports for the CPA

HR tasks including

• Participate in Performance Reviews
• Manage Performance Improvement Plans
• Project and forecast labor costs
• Processing and auditing payroll records
• Benefits Management
• Fringe benefit reporting for each local IBEW union
• Labor Compliance audits and reporting

Admin Support

• Learn all of the bookkeeping tasks and act as a backup for other office team members.
• Manage data in the warehouse management system and account for inventory costs and values
• Office management and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in office management, bookkeeping, and customer service roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and office equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in the energy or renewable energy sector is a plus.
• Experience processing construction draws and using AIA billing forms is a plus
• Experience working with Sage 100 is a plus
• Experience with Job Costing and producing job costing reports is a plus
