Summary
Under the supervision of the Court Administrator, the Probation Officer must manage probation caseload to rehabilitate and reduce recidivism of adults, explain sentencing and probation requirements, monitor compliance with probation terms, and conduct pre-sentence investigations and assessments to make recommendations to the Judge.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with probationers to assess their needs and risks
- Develop and implement rehabilitation plans tailored to each individual's circumstances
- Monitor probationers' compliance with court-ordered conditions
- Provide guidance and support to help probationers reintegrate into society
- Write detailed reports on probationers' progress and compliance
- Collaborate with other criminal justice professionals, social workers, and community resources
-Other duties as assigned by the judge or court administrator.
Education, Formal Training, and Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Criminal Justice or related field of study
- One year of professional experience in Probation or related field
-Experience in Crisis management, Interviewing, Law enforcement, Social work, Case management, and Report writing preferred
