We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac CT Technologist to join our esteemed cardiology practice, serving the Dallas and Rockwall areas. Be part of the first cardiology practice in the world to use the Arineta Spotlight CT Scanner. 

The Cardiac CT Technologist is primarily responsible for performing CT examinations in a safe and therapeutic manner. The CT Technologist is expected to deliver care to the patients of the practice, delivering quality service. CT Technologist will support in developing the service line to include policy and protocol development, ongoing process improvement, and completing program accreditation.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose  of detecting pathology. 
  • Regulates the equipment used to expose, develop and document via PACS imaging.
  • Prepares exam rooms, equipment and necessary supplies.
  • Prepares necessary documentation.
  • Verifies patient identification and physician orders.
  • Obtains patient history and explains procedures to patients/families.
  • Observes and monitors patients.
  • Responds to patient questions and concerns.
  • Provides film/scan critiques as needed.
  • Cleans and disinfects exam rooms and equipment.
  • Enters data into the EMR and PACS system.
  • Participates in quality and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of clinical protocols for new services and programs (i.e.,Watchanman, TAVR, PE, Low Volume Contrast, etc.).
  • Documents and reports equipment malfunctions and supply item defects.
  • Understands and accepts the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation.
  • Improves quality results by evaluating accuracy and quality of images; providing technical assistance; implementing new  techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, practice staff and              physicians.
  • Serves as a clinical and technical resource for patients, physicians, practice staff, and technologists.
  • Assess images on screen or film to ensure quality for physician interpretation.
  • Provides input on protocols and procedures to Lead Technologist.
  • Supports the Lead Technologist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures as needed for IAC accreditation.
  • Supports data collection and protocol information necessary for IAC accreditation.
  • Completes post-processing of 3D imaging required by interpreting physician.
  • Assists in training other Imaging Technologists.

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification by appropriate body (ARRT) and valid Texas Radiological License.
  • CT certification.
  • CPR / BLS certification.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of four to six (4-6) years’ experience in CT imaging.
  • Self-motivated & directed with regard to an increasing level of understanding and knowledge.
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behaviors at all times.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements. 
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages. 
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and  external vendors.
  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Capable of wearing lead aprons for extended periods of time.
  • Provides a safe environment by monitoring radioactive exposure of staff and patients, keeping staff and patients safe.
  • Physical ability to lift and position patients and assist with patient transfers.
  • Ability to perform CT procedures without supervision.
  • Must have the knowledge to make quick and highly technical decisions in order to accommodate physical restrictions and  pathology.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Electronic Medical Record/Patient Scheduling systems.
  • PACS and DICOM viewer systems.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm. No weekends, holidays or after hours.
