What are the responsibilities and job description for the Northshore Commercial Service Electrician position at A-1 Electrical Contractors Inc?
A-1 Electrical Contractors Inc. is currently expanding its electrical specialists' team. A-1 is seeking an experienced commercial service electrician to join our service team supporting our Greater New Orleans and North Shore clients on a full-time basis.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.
- Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Technology inclined.
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and take emergency calls.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems independently.
- Able to read One Line and Schematic Drawings.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Completed electrician apprenticeship.
- Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes.
- Valid New Orleans Class D license.
- Large Scale Commercial projects.
- Electrical Service projects.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Must be able to comply to a criminal background check and drug test.
Preferred:
- CDL class A license
- OSHA 10 certified
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
