Summary:
A-1 Electrical Contractors, Inc is seeking a detailed-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team.
Essential Functions:
The Staff Accountant manages the accounting operations of the company, to include the management and responsibility of all transactions, the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Presenting financial reporting to management.
- Maintaining internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
- Developing and forecasting department level budgets
- Working with the project managing team to review and forecast project budgets
- Ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Overseeing accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and preparation of financial statements
- Managing all transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, Prepaid expenses, and bank reconciliations
- Coordinating accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Superior communication skills (written and oral)
- Advanced knowledge of general accepted accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
- Strong skills in the areas of math, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Experience with various accounting and construction software (Procore, Acumatica, Service Trade)
- Superior data manipulation and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Education Qualifications:
Minimum: BA in Business, Finance, or Accounting
Experience Qualifications:
Preferred: 2 years of Accounting experience as a Staff Accountant in the construction industry.
Work Environment:
This position works in an office setting during normal business hours. A typical workday will be 7:30-4:00, Monday through Friday.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, use hands and arms, talk, hear, and view a computer monitor for extended periods. Lifting up to 30 lbs occurs occasionally.
