HVAC Service Technician
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for , safely and neatly, evaluating and repairing existing HVAC equipment , while leaving a positive impression on the homeowner.
The various tasks, duties and responsibilities commonly carried out by HVAC Service Technician are highlighted below :
- Perform thorough evaluations of existing HVAC equipment, not only to figure out why it is not working, but to also look for future issues.
- Decide whether it is better to repair or replace equipment and confidently relay information to homeowners.
- Read and understand wiring diagrams and technical manuals .
- Properly use many different meters, gauges and tools in order to effectively evaluate the status of equipment .
- Safely and neatly remove faulty parts and reinstall new parts without damage to other parts of the system.
- Perform repairs of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering .
- Use problem solving skills and make adaptions in order to repair equipment.
- Determine the right material needed to complete repairs.
- Keep track of parts on company vans and restock as needed.
- Maintain company vehicle appearance.
- Properly relay information via phone to other technicians , supervisors or manufacturer representatives, in order to collaborate on solutions.
- Communicate with homeowner and be able to explain issues in a manner they can understand.
- Be willing to do what e ver it takes to ensure homeowner comfort by the end of the day
- Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time .
- Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with superiors , co-workers , and homeowners.
- Ensure all paperwork needed for each day is accurately filled out .
- Collect payment and return to office in a responsible manner.
- Maintain a clean, presentable appearance at all times.
- Take pride in a high- quality evaluation and repair .
- Stay up to date on the latest innovations in the industry and maintain EPA and NATE Certifications .
