· Customer Interaction:
- Greet and assist walk-up customers, offering excellent customer service.
- Understand the customer needs and suggest products that best meet those needs.
- Provide information about products, pricing, and availability.
· Sales and Transactions:
- Process sales transactions quickly and accurately, including cash, credit, or other payment methods.
- Handle returns and exchanges as per company policies.
· Order Fulfillment:
- All orders need to be communicated to yard staff for fulfillment.
- Process special orders or backorders as needed, ensuring customers receive the correct products.
- Provide order updates and track special orders for customers.
· Product Knowledge:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s product offerings and features.
- Stay up to date on new products, and pricing changes.
- Assist customers with product demonstrations or specifications when required.
· Inventory Management:
- Help manage office inventory levels by checking stock regularly and restocking shelves as needed.
- Assist in organizing the store or counter area to ensure products are accessible and well-presented.
· Customer Relationship Management:
- Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with a professional and solution-oriented approach.
· Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other sales staff, management, and yard personnel to ensure smooth operations.
· Safety and Cleanliness:
- Ensure that the sales area, product displays, and workstations are clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff.
- Adhere to company health and safety standards and policies.
· Training and Development:
- Participate in product training and sales training to continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
· Requirements:
- Experience in Inside sales or a similar role, preferably in the landscape supply field or similar.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport over the phone and email.
- Self-motivated with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
- Proficient in point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Preferred Qualifications:
- High School graduate (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in Landscape Supply is preferred but not required.
- Bi-lingual applicant is preferred, but not required.
