Job Title: Journeyman Plumber
Overview:
As a Journeyman Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise in plumbing techniques, codes, and regulations is essential in ensuring safe and efficient operation of water, gas, and drainage systems.
Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install and assemble plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes. This includes piping, fittings, valves, faucets, water heaters, and sewage systems.
- Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctions. Repair or replace damaged components, including pipes, valves, and fixtures, to restore functionality and prevent further damage.
- New Construction and Renovation: Work on new construction projects and renovation/remodeling projects, collaborating with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure proper installation and integration of plumbing systems with overall building design.
- Pipefitting: Measure, cut, and thread pipes using various tools and equipment. Install piping systems for water supply, gas lines, and drainage, ensuring proper alignment, slope, and connections.
- Gas Plumbing: Install, inspect, and repair gas lines and appliances, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards for gas plumbing.
- Backflow Prevention: Install, test, and maintain backflow prevention devices to protect potable water supplies from contamination.
- Water Treatment Systems: Install, service, and repair water treatment and filtration systems to improve water quality and ensure safe drinking water for customers.
- Emergency Services: Respond to emergency plumbing calls promptly, including after-hours and weekend calls. Perform emergency repairs to minimize damage and restore essential services.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Stay updated on changes to plumbing codes and requirements.
