Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance on commercial and sports turf irrigation systems; To ensure irrigation system is properly maintained and operating at peak efficiency. To also have knowledge of plant species for landscape upgrades. Monitor Maintenance crews and their day-to-day operations.

Our ideal candidate can :

• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation wiring, valves, pipe and fittings, sprinklers heads.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and central irrigation controllers.
• Perform general and seasonal system maintenance.
• System start-ups, evaluation, and winterization.
• Perform back flow tests; Test irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers; Record detailed inspections.
• Read diagrams and blueprints to layout and locate irrigation valves, timers, and wiring.
• Locate, excavate, repair, or replace damaged or malfunctioning irrigation equipment.
• Responsible for the purchasing of repair parts, keeping accurate inventory.
• Think critically to solve problems and complete repairs with minimal impact to lawn or landscape.
• Effectively assess water efficiency and make adjustments to quickly correct over or under watering.
• Be proactive with diagnosing and repairing any irrigation issues.
• Complete daily paperwork as required by each job.
• Perform accurate and timely record keeping.
• Perform such other activities as may be temporarily or permanently assigned.
• Be able to schedule irrigation projects for sports turf fields and commercial properties.
• Be able to correctly diagnose irrigation issues and repair or replace irrigation system components.
• Ability to determine correct materials needed for repairs and appropriate material inventory in stock.
• Be able to determine correct water schedules needed for all turf and all types of vegetation.
• Conduct regular inspections of assigned irrigation systems.
• Should have an eye for detail- mowing, weed eating, pruning / trimming, vegetation condition, etc.
• General shrub and plant knowledge.
• How to operate a variety of irrigation controllers.
• Be able to work independently, and with team members.
• Good communication skills (be able to relay any problems / issues landscape crews and / or supervisor).
• Ability to interact professionally with all customers, employees, and those from external organizations.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

This position requires physical abilities such as strength, manual dexterity, and must be able to perform all required functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the licensed irrigator is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop or kneel. The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions. Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, and dirty / wet worksites.
