The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that adhere to Occupational Health and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations. The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, including Workers Compensation law.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with EPA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Facilitate root cause analysis for incidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide training development for employees on safety protocols, including CPR and emergency response procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status.
- Manage Workers Compensation claims and ensure adherence to applicable laws.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, incidents, and inspections.
- Files incident reports related to workers' compensation claims; Investigates and determines root cause for employee and non-employee safety-related incidents; reviews with Safety Committee and Executive Team and follows up on corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Creates and maintains worker's compensation claims and medical records, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality.
