What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Press Operator-3rd Shift- Data Services Division position at A.B. Data, Ltd.?
In this position you will:
- Review job specifications, adjust equipment, produce finished product.
- Use computer keyboard, onscreen selections, and job ticket to set up the job.
- Confirm correct paper stock and match to sample.
- Run Print Job:
- Load materials/paper, select or set up form template to Queue, run batch, remove processed material and unused stock.
- Visually inspect run, match, and color match the document to samples.
- Review job tickets, verify/ensure quality and quantity meet job specifications to sample.
- Check quality and troubleshoot problems and make necessary corrections, alerting supervisor or management when necessary.
- Maintain daily print job production logs, prepare delivery manifests as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Abilities, Skills and Experience:
- PC knowledge and detail focus. Previous production experience preferred.
- Experience operating a digital press is preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED. Production/manufacturing experience helpful. Some machine and tool knowledge, including their uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance helpful but not required.
- Able to:
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Able to compute percent.
- Read and understand instructions, and memos; and write brief notes and carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations and to management and/or other employees.
- Know or learn inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Deal with problems involving several variables in standard situations.
- Learn/understand digital printing systems; do some preventative maintenance. Use check sheet to determine problem and when to call technician.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds, walk/stand 6-7 hours per day on average, bend/stoop 2-3 hours per day, some kneeling and crouching. Good vision skills including close vision, and to identify and distinguish colors required.
- Able to work independently, without consistent managerial oversight.

Salary Range: $19.50- $22.00
