Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with HVAC or skilled trades degree as a bonus that will result in higher starting pay. This role involves installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various cleaning systems and appliances to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Locations for this type of work include commercial or industrial settings such as hospitals, prisons, hotel/motels, gymnasiums, etc in the entire state of Michigan and into Ohio and Indiana as needed. The Service Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service. Daily travel will be required in company truck with large parts inventory.
Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Cleaning or HVAC systems, including boilers, tunnel systems, cooling towers, complete linen cleaning systems, washers & dryers. Regular property maintenance such as overhead doors, fence enclosures, compactors for waste disposal, etc will also be a regular duty of Service Technician.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on cleaning systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical components and ensure proper functionality.
- Build, plumb, and install new equipment as required.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in repairs and installations.
- Conduct property maintenance tasks related to cleaning systems and appliances.
- Repair or replace defective parts in appliances, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding service needs and recommendations.
Skills
- Proficient mechanical background including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Competence in reading/interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters.
- Ability to build and plumb equipment effectively.
- Experience in property maintenance tasks related to Cleaning Systems and HVAC systems.
- Skills in appliance repair with a focus on efficiency and safety.
