Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Swim Coach to lead and inspire swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Key Responsibilities:
Training and Instruction:
- Plan and conduct swim practices tailored to the skill levels and goals of the swimmers.
- Teach and refine swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, and starts/turns.
- Develop training regimens for improving endurance, speed, and strength.
Team Leadership:
- Lead swim team members during practices and competitions.
- Provide constructive feedback and motivation to swimmers to encourage continuous improvement.
- Foster teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude among participants.
Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with facility rules and regulations.
- Monitor swimmers to prevent injuries and respond effectively to emergencies if needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Coordinate swim meets, including registration, logistics, and team communication.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and facility staff.
Skill Development:
- Identify areas for improvement and develop individualized plans for swimmers.
- Mentor athletes and encourage goal-setting for personal and competitive achievements.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience in competitive swimming or swim instruction.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training strategies, and competition rules.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Coaching certification from a recognized organization (e.g., USA Swimming, ASCA) preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
