Job Purpose :

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operational performance of our weld fabrication shop. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong technical background in welding and fabrication, as well as proven management, estimating, and procurement skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, capable of leading a team of four, managing projects, and ensuring efficient and profitable operations, while also deeply understanding and promoting the company's commitment to creating products for the betterment of the world.

Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy : Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company objectives, including growth, profitability, and market share. Provide strong leadership and direction to all departments within A & B Sheetmetal Works.
Operations Management : Oversee all aspects of shop operations, including production planning, scheduling, quality control, and maintenance. Optimize production processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety and timely delivery.
Estimating and Project Management : Accurately estimate material and labor costs for fabrication projects. Write detailed and competitive job bids. Develop and manage project timelines and budgets. Coordinate with clients and partner companies to clarify project requirements and provide technical guidance. Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion, ensuring alignment with the project’s contribution to the company’s overall goal. Develop innovative solutions to complex fabrication problems.
Financial Management : Manage the shop's budget, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures. Prepare and analyze financial reports.
Collaboration with Shared Services : Effectively utilize available shared services for all HR-related matters (recruitment, training, performance management, employee relations), safety compliance, and procurement needs. Ensure effective communication and collaboration with these shared service teams.
Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a General Manager with the following :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

5 years of experience in a management role within a weld fabrication shop or similar manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication techniques, and quality control procedures.

Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.

Experience with ERP systems and other manufacturing software.
