Position Summary:
The Business Development Director for Behavioral Health is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing growth opportunities that expand the organization’s behavioral health services. This role focuses on strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue growth, with a strong emphasis on client acquisition, relationship management, and aligning business strategy with clinical innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth & Partnerships:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and referral sources in behavioral health markets (e.g., hospitals, health systems, payers, community organizations).
- Develop strategic plans to expand services, increase market share, and improve brand presence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate potential acquisitions or joint ventures.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, payer dynamics, and emerging behavioral health needs.
- Use data to drive strategic decisions and identify new service lines or geographic markets.
- Sales & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including referral partners, managed care organizations, and government agencies.
- Oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with clinical, marketing, and operational teams to ensure business development strategies align with organizational capabilities and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and communication strategies targeting potential partners or clients.
- Performance & Reporting:
- Set KPIs and performance metrics for growth initiatives.
- Track and report on progress to executive leadership, adjusting strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of experience in business development, preferably in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
- Deep understanding of behavioral health services, trends, and reimbursement models.
- Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and close high-impact deals.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with managed care organizations, Medicaid/Medicare, and value-based care models is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use treatment modalities.
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, Joint Commission).
- CRM proficiency

Pay: $65,548.70 - $78,940.37 per year
