A caregiver's primary responsibility is to provide support and assistance to individuals who need help with daily tasks. Caregivers may perform a variety of duties, including :
Personal care : Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene
Meal preparation : Helping with preparing, serving, and consuming food and drink
Medication management : Administering oral and topical medication as prescribed by a doctor
Household chores : Running errands, doing laundry, and light housekeeping
Comfort care : Providing companionship and emotional support, and engaging in light conversation and reading
Mobility assistance : Helping with mobility and other physical tasks
Monitoring conditions : Observing changes in the physical and mental of the person they care for, and communicating these changes to providers
Maintaining records : Maintaining records of all treatment being administered
Home safety : Ensuring that home safety issues are addressed, such as installing handrails, raised toilet seats, grab bars, and non-skid mats
Required qualifications :
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 18 years or older
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Own a personal vehicle
- Valid driver's license
- Valid auto liability insurance
- Background check
- Has (or willing to open) a checking account for direct deposit
