Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s overall well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' health or behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Help clients with mobility issues, including lifting and transferring as needed.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by implementing personalized care plans.
- Engage clients in social activities and memory care exercises to promote cognitive function.
- Ensure that resident rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Skills
- Experience in direct support or home health care is preferred.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices is a plus.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is beneficial.
- Familiarity with long-term care settings and memory care practices is desirable.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.
