Medical Billing and Coding Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate the complexities of medical billing and collections.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing submission.
• Follow up on unpaid claims, addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the collection process.
• Maintain knowledge of current medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries and ensure smooth operations within the medical office.
• Generate reports related to billing activities, collections, and accounts receivable as needed.

Experience

• At least 2 years of proven experience in medical billing, including familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is preferred.
• Experience with medical collection processes and systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.94 - $20.02 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
