What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at A Bright Beginning Infant & Toddler Center?
Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess 12 ECE units or an Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development; or a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or a child related field
- Must have 3 ECE units in Infant and Toddler Studies
- Be CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified
- Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs
- Responsibilities
- Be the primary caregiver for up to four children in the classroom
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
- Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
- Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)
- Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service
- Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children
- Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences
- Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events
- Review and ensure all documents are completed on time and accurately such as Suspected Illness forms, How was my day, and Ouch Reports
- Communicate with other teachers when documents are sent home
- Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
