Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher/teacher assistant to support our educators in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with autism and other disabilities, and will assist in implementing lesson plans and managing classroom behavior. This role is essential in fostering a positive educational experience for all students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and curriculum development tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Support students in their daily activities, ensuring they are engaged and participating in classroom tasks.
- Help manage classroom behavior by implementing effective behavior management strategies.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, including those with autism and other disabilities.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt lessons and activities as needed for individual student success.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to childcare and education.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of lesson planning, curriculum development, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education practices, particularly for children with autism or other disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications related to childcare or education are a plus.
