Job Overview
With over 40 years of experience and continued education, Bud Krater has earned the title of Registered Tax Return Preparer and Enrolled Agent. Like lawyers and CPAs, enrolled agents have unrestricted practice privileges, allowing them to represent any taxpayer, handle various tax issues, and represent clients before any IRS office.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles, with the ability to analyze data effectively. This role involves preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Tax Preparer will utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to facilitate accurate and efficient tax preparation.
The ideal candidate will have background bookkeeping, tax office experience, full-cycle accounting, financial statements, 1099, payroll reporting, tax deadline experience or enrolled in any of the following courses: accounting, business administration, and taxation. Candidates will be required to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, other office software is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Analyze financial data to determine tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to manage client accounts and streamline the preparation process.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
- Provide clients with guidance on tax-related issues and strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with other team members in public accounting or corporate accounting settings as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of all tax-related tasks while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Solid understanding of math principles relevant to accounting and finance.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts and practices.
- Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their tax situations.
- Tax Preparer Certification from IRS Approved Course and/or Continuing Education
