Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Service Foreman to lead our field crew in tree care operations. This role involves supervising tree trimming and removal projects, ensuring job site safety, and operating equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in tree services, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of climbers, groundsmen, and equipment operators on job sites.
- Oversee and participate in tree pruning, removals, and emergency storm response work.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI and OSHA safety standards, conducting job site safety briefings.
- Operate or assist with the operation of heavy equipment, including bucket trucks, cranes, and chippers.
- Provide training and guidance to crew members to improve skills and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with customers, crew members, and management regarding job progress and expectations.
- Perform basic maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tree care operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of tree pruning, removal techniques, and rigging practices.
- Ability to operate tree care equipment, including bucket trucks, chippers, and chainsaws.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- Certified Arborist or relevant industry certifications (preferred but not required).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials (50 lbs).
