The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate need for a Sr Cloud Data Specialist 1. Ideal candidate will be qualified with designing, developing, and implementing data models.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Execute long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders
- Develop short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall data management roadmap
- Collaborate with third-parties, product / platform teams and business subject matter experts to enable company strategic imperatives that require secure and accessible data cloud capabilities or assist in accessing data required to enrich models
- Collaborate with IT Enterprise Architecture, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Quality and Data Governance stakeholders to :
Adhere to and advocate for processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of corporate metadata
Take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validityTracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvementContribute to cloud consumption cost forecasting, optimizations, usage requirements, proof of concepts, proof of business value, feasibility studies, and other tasksActively participate in the creation of strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archivingComply with data strategies, architecture best practice to ensure regulatory complianceAcquisition & Deployment
Participate in technical proposals with vendors, cloud providers, and service providers to select the solutions or services that best meet company goals as requiredOperational Management
Ensure that Data Engineering processes follow best practices for SDLC including proper use of source control, branching strategies, deployment pipelines, and change managementAssisting to maintain artifacts that represent the current-state, and future-state, system design as part of the technical roadmap for DataPerform regular peer reviews of code and contribute to the success of all data team membersContribute to and promote data management methodologies and standardsInvestigate and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goalsEnsure the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data qualityWork with project managers and business unit leaders on project assignments involving enterprise dataAssist with data-related problems regarding systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integrationDevelop key components as needed to create testing criteria to guarantee the fidelity and performance of data architectureUpdate the data architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the implemented structureIdentify and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirementContribute to the maintenance of data engineering code by identifying and advocating for paying down tech-debtQualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience :
Seven (7 ) or more years related experience requiredFive (5 ) or more years in a data engineering role preferredTwo (2 ) or more years' experience as a project or team lead preferredTechnical Knowledge & Experience Utilized in this Role Include :
Knowledge of data architecture concepts, data mining, large-scale data modeling, cloud data storage, and analytics platformsExperience with Azure, AWS, or Google data capabilitiesWorking experience with one or more cloud data platforms, such as Databricks, Synapse, Foundry, or SnowflakeAdvanced experience with one or more Cloud Based ELT / ETL services, such as Azure Data Factory or AWS GlueExperience performing data profilingWorking knowledge or experience with one or more reporting and / or analytics platforms, such as PowerBI, Tableau, or LookerDirect experience in implementing data solutions in the cloudExperience in deploying infrastructure as codeAdvanced knowledge of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practicesStrong familiarity with metadata management and associated processesExperience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so onAbility to work with data owners in support of a data catalogExperience with database management systems, including Oracle RDBMS and SQL ServerUnderstanding of Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL)Understanding of object-oriented programming principalsExcellent client / user interaction skills to determine requirementsProject management, Product Management and / or Agile Product Team experience preferredAwareness of applicable data privacy practices and laws
