QA Manager
A.C. Legg is looking for a QA Manager to lead our Quality program. The QA Manager will work with Operations to ensure safe, quality products that meet all applicable standards by continually improving our Quality standards and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains and continually improves all aspects of A.C. Legg’s Quality program
- Leads a team of QA Technicians and lab techs in the execution and validation of all facets of the Quality program
- Ensures compliance to all regulatory, customers, and corporate regulations.
- Participates in regulatory, customer, and internal audits.
- Leads investigations of customer complaints and works with the Food Safety team in formulating responses
- Works on team to facilitate customer recalls
- Works with other Managers and Directors to solve problems with Production/Quality
- Work with vendors to correct noncompliance issues concerning ingredients and supplies
Requirements:
- Preference of a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related fields
- 10 years of food industry quality plant/systems experience with demonstrated achievement in Quality leadership
- Strong experience working in a manufacturing setting
- Desired certifications: PCQI, HACCP, SQF, GFSI
- Experience with food microbiological testing practices
- Strong knowledge in Sanitation and GMP Practices, familiarity with Pest Control programs and techniques
- Knowledge of Quality Standards, and Quality Policies, with skills and ability to execute against requirements
- Knowledge and general business acumen to support and influence Manufacturing, including best practices and innovative technologies.
- Knowledgeable in industry Food Safety/Quality audit practices, and skilled in adapting to achieve business best practices.
- Capable of engaging other businesses units in development and standardization of; Quality manuals, policies, procedures, and data templates, audit standards and procedures, and Quality Key Performance Indicators.
- Knowledgeable in Statistical Process Control programs and Process capability studies
- Demonstrated problem solver with ability to implement effective solutions
- Effective management and supervisory skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to be a team player and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment
- Keep current with changes in technologies and regulation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
