Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Overview:
Join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician where you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmologist and providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. This position offers a dynamic work environment in a state-of-the-art clinic dedicated to improving vision health. If your experience is limited or in another specialty, we are happy to train you onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye function testing including visual acuity, visual fields, and color vision testing.
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, keratometry, and retinal imaging.
- Educate patients on proper eye care procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records systems.
- Manage inventory of ophthalmic supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Collaborate with the front desk staff to schedule appointments and follow-ups.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferable but not necessary, we can train you
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to the eye preferable but we are willing to train you and assist in your learning
- Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient care.
