We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Preparing and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Providing patient observation and monitoring health conditions, ensuring the well-being of each resident.
- Maintaining a clean and safe living environment for all residents.
- Supporting residents in social activities and community engagement to promote inclusion.
- Documenting care provided and any changes in residents' conditions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborating with nursing staff and other professionals to implement care plans effectively.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- A caring attitude, patience, and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy.
